Governor Christie heads to Brant Beach today, the third stop on his summer tax cut tour.
Governor Christie continues his ?Endless Summer Tax Relief Tour? with a stop at Brant Beach on Long Beach Island this afternoon.
So far the newly themed tour of town hall style events has taken Christie to Ocean City and Manasquan.
Christie has continued to press Democrats to take a day off from their summer vacations and return to Trenton to enact his tax relief proposal. The Democrats are taking a wait and see approach, saying they will provide the tax cut ? which residents wouldn?t be able to apply for until they file their taxes in April anyway ? in January if state tax collections come in at the lofty rate Christie has projected.
Christie has been having some fun with his latest series of events. Yesterday his office released ?Essential Beach Supplies: What you?ll need to track down the Corzine Democrats and get them the hell off the beach and back to work on middle-class tax relief.? The list includes SPF 115 sunscreen to ?block the damaging ?raise? of taxes and fees,? a metal detector to ?detect your money in the pockets of Corzine Dems,? and a shovel, ?to help dig us out of the hole Corzine Dems have put us in.?
The Democrats are also having fun with Christie?s summer beach tour and yesterday released ?An Endless Summer of Rhetoric: The Soundtrack.?
Taking the music from the Beach Boys song ?Fun, Fun, Fun? the Democrats came up with their own ?Endless Summer,? that includes lyrics like, ?The economists say wait ?til the money is there now/But he only gets up in their face now/(Gets up in their face now, gets up in their face)/He turns public debate into a TMZ-worthy disgrace now/(Gets up in their face now, gets up in their face).?
The song also pokes fun at Christie?s use of YouTube videos to spread his sound bites and accuses him of pushing for the tax cut now so he can use it if he?s tapped to give a speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa next month.
The tune ends with ?fun, fun, fun ?til the rev?nues are all spent away.
Christie will be at the Bay View Park Gazebo at 6805 Long Beach Island Boulevard at 3 p.m. today.
