WASHINGTON -- In what could be described as normal weather conditions for the month of January, the nation's capital experienced its first snowfall of 2012 on Monday afternoon.

Although there could be "a little slush on the roads briefly," according to Capital Weather Gang, Twitter-enabled weather observers across town sent in dispatches to the social networking platform.
