Brendan Carter, founder of Rise Above Basketball, has come together with former collegiate basketball players Robert Walton and Corey Lowe to create a unique basketball program which will cater to student athletes ranging from ages 7-18. Within this program they offer camps, clinics and individual training which will center on taking one?s drive to the highest level of performance.???
As you may know, athletics plays an important role in creating a sense of community. The program places a strong emphasis on fundamentals, work ethic, sportsmanship and developing leadership both on and off the court. As coaches, they are dedicated to helping each athlete reach his/her potential by being mentors and teachers of the game. Each member of the Rise Above Basketball coaching staff brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the program from their days of playing college/professional basketball. The focus and purpose is to initiate, stimulate and improve opportunities for competition while teaching the fundamentals of basketball from the ground up, and making sure to stay within the pace of today's style of play.
Currently, Rise Above Basketball is training out of the following locations:? South Boston, Dorchester, Roslindale, Framingham, Newton, Shrewsbury, Cohasset and Hingham, MA. This summer the program will be running co-ed basketball camps at the South Shore Sports Center (55 Recreation Park Drive, Hingham MA. 02043) July 15-July 19 & August 12-August 16 from 9:00AM-3:00PM for a cost of $225. The camp will be split up amongst different age groups (7-14). Camp includes Rise Above Basketball T-Shirt, Player Profiles, & Individual Awards.?
