Perth Glory have confirmed the sacking of coach Ian Ferguson, with former Socceroo Alistair Edwards appointed interim coach until the end of the A-League season.
Ferguson was shown the door by club owner Tony Sage after an eighth successive A-League game without a win, a 2-0 loss to the Melbourne Heart at the weekend.
It was their fourth straight loss and the fourth consecutive match the Glory had failed to score.
The club confirmed Ferguson would no longer coach the club "by mutual consent".

Edwards will be assisted by another former Glory player, Gareth Naven, until the end of the season.
The Glory are five points from sixth-placed Sydney FC in the race for the finals with nine regular-season rounds remaining.
Sage, who returned from business overseas to axe Ferguson, said Glory's current position at the foot of the A-League ladder was unacceptable.
"(Ian Ferguson) agreed it was unacceptable to be at the bottom of the league with the team that we have," Sage said.
"Being on the bottom of the ladder when you're competing against the Eagles, Dockers, Wildcats and Force (all cross-code rivals) isn't good enough."
The season had also been dotted with large proclamations of Glory's ambition, with Michael Owen and David Beckham both mentioned as potential targets, but neither eventuated.
The murmurings of unrest at the club then became public after defender David Thwaite criticised the club's lack of direction when Bas van den Brink, Billy Mehmet and Jesse Makarounas were all allowed to leave before the end of the season.
