By Beverly & Dennis Little, Co-Organizers, Santa Fe Concorso (An Interview with Rey Post)
Q This is the third year the nationally-known Santa Fe Corcorso has been staged.? What makes this event so special?
A We are proud that the event has grown into the Southwest?s premier automotive gathering of more than 100 rare and exotic cars and motorcycles. It is attended by 3,000 people and features three days (September 26-30) of activities including open road and high mountain car tours, special displays of the cars, a rare car Design Forum, and a juried event selecting a variety of ?best-of? awards.
Q You have a new venue this year for the event, correct?
A Yes, we are very pleased that The Club at Las Campanas, a stunning golf and equestrian facility located in one of Santa Fe?s finest communities, is hosting this year?s event.
Q And the public can participate in many of the Santa Fe Concorso activities, correct?
A Absolutely! People from all over the country are coming to the event and there are a number of ways to participate. The best way to discover what works best for you as an enthusiast is to go to our website: www.santafeconcorso.com for information on the three-day schedule and how to obtain tickets.
Q I also understand that besides car enthusiasts, you are also having a number of race car legends join in the festivities.
A That?s correct. Automotive luminaries such as Sir Stirling Moss, Santa Fe?s own Denise McCluggage, a legendary racer and writer, as well as Albuqurque?s own Al Unser, Sr., the four-time Indianapolis 500 winner, will be among our special guests.
Q And one of the most rewarding elements of the Santa Fe Concorso for you is that the success of the event directly benefits youth organizations of the greater Santa Fe region.
A Indeed, Rey. Our organization is a non-profit and all-volunteer and we are quite proud of being able to give back to the community with a number of well-known youth groups and initiatives being the beneficiaries of our efforts.
Q Speaking of being proud, we are extremely privileged to be able to air a two-hour remote broadcast of the ?All Things Real Estate? radio show from your event on September 30 beginning at noon.
A Yes, this is when the Santa Fe Concorso stages its main event of having classic cars and motorcycles displayed on the 9th fairway at The Club at Las Campanas Sunrise Golf Course, and our automotive judges will review the field and name class winners. A very special occasion for all in attendance!
The Santa Fe Concorso is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization benefitting youth organizations of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County, affecting the families of home owners, sellers and buyers in our real estate community. The Santa Fe Concorso is being profiled as part of the All Things Real Estate ?Unique Destinations? series.
