With the birth of computers in the 20
th century, work tasks can be done faster and much easily. This field has created new jobs, enhanced communications with the customers, automatic business operations, managing the company records easily and many more. Computer technology is emerging. Future computer technology will engage computers with high performance, resolution, speed and much reduced cost. New computer technology encompasses computers that are small in size, faster and yet powerful in performance. Though some areas of computer technology have shown a rapid improvement but there are some areas that need to be developed. Latest computer technology is the nanotechnology and quantum computing. Quantum computers can be able to handle multiple tasks that are almost impossible for today?s super computers. Nanotechnology is the upcoming computer technology which can give drastic changes in fields of defense, health, research, education, artificial intelligence, etc.
As new computer technology is advancing, we can get computers of small size that have high speed and performance at a relatively lower price. A computer?s internal parts like processor, RAM, hard disk, Network Interface Card (NIC) are improved so as to deliver a good quality to the customer. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitors are used today as if these monitors are designed while keeping computer user in mind. These monitors do not tire the eyes as that of CRT monitors. Laptop, Palmtop and Tablets are the latest computer technology. This type of computers allows the user to work on their computer on the move. These computers use lithium batteries to function. Portable hard disk, flash memory cards, pen drives, DVDs and Blu-ray disc are the new technologies developed for data storage.
Hard disks of up to many terabytes are developed for unlimited storage by companies that handle data of their millions of customers. To support high quality graphics, the processors that have a word length of 64-bit are used. The RAM size of computer is increased so as to achieve smooth functioning of animation and other graphics software package. Intel and AMD are the two companies that manufacture microprocessors and are a pioneer in inventing new technologies. Speaking about the wireless technologies, wireless keyboard and mouse are used widely and these are free from error and long lasting.
Wireless technology like blue tooth and wi-fi are used widely today for communication purposes. Touch sensible screens are wide in use today as if these do not need keyboards and mouse for interaction. Mobile phone technologies are gearing up and in the near future we might do not need a computer to get the work done as if a single mobile phone would have the capacity to do all the work. If you are using a iphone then, you might install Taptu. Taptu is a mobile search engine that lets you to search the web. Opera Unite is a new technology web browser that lets your personal computer turn into web server and share different files with other computers as well. Technology does not stop here; it goes on developing further making the work simpler.
